[0:00] Good morning again. Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. We'll be in the Old Testament this morning. [0:15] The book of Isaiah, chapter 12. If you came expecting a topical sermon on Thanksgiving, then that's not really what I have, what we're going to be doing this morning. [0:39] I've never once preached a sermon just because a certain holiday was imminent or because church fell on a certain holiday. I may very well preach about the birth of Jesus Christ in the middle of July. [0:57] I may very well preach about Easter in the fall. You know, I just never have done that. And I'm not going to start now.But Isaiah 12, it is a cause for Thanksgiving. [1:13] These few verses that are in this chapter. And it is just a very few verses. There's only six. In the entire chapter. But what we need to understand is the context. [1:25] Before leading up to these six verses in Isaiah 12. Isaiah, the first really 39 or so chapters of the book of Isaiah are filled with a lot of rebuke. [1:41] And really filled with an indictment against Israel.Isaiah's writing was pointed mostly at Judah. Because this was the time of the divided kingdom. [1:56] But it also involved a lot of Israel as a whole. And God brings indictment against his own people. And so there's a lot of judgment. [2:07] There's a lot of rebuke from God. Judgment from God. And a lot of wrath pronounced from God. In the first 11 chapters. [2:19] However, also in those first 11 chapters. We see a lot of promise. I mean, you know. Isaiah chapter 1 has one of my favorite verses. To quote where God says, Come, let us reason together, saith the Lord. [2:34] Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow. Though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. But again, in the midst of all this is a lot of judgment. [2:46] A lot of righteous indignation that God has against Israel. But we also find these promises in Isaiah chapter 7. We have the promise of God with us. Emmanuel. That's where the virgin birth is promised in Isaiah chapter 7. [2:59] Isaiah chapter 9 is where we read more about the birth of the Messiah. This is where we find him called Wonderful Counselor. Or the mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace. [3:10] All that is found in Isaiah chapter 9. And you know, this time of year we see that on a lot of Christmas cards, don't we? In Isaiah chapter 11, we see the promise of the stem of Jesse. [3:25] From the stem of Jesse is going to come forth the said Messiah. So again, in the midst of all this judgment. And in the midst of all this rebuke. [3:36] The promise of deliverance. And the promise of a deliverer. And we know that deliverer to be Jesus Christ. [3:46] All these folks in the Old Testament knew was that there was a deliverer promised. They did not know him by name. They knew the name Emmanuel that we find. As far as God with us. [3:58] And that's actually reiterated in the New Testament as well. But they knew that there was a Messiah promised. And God, in the midst of all of his righteous judgment. [4:11] The cause of the sin and rebellion of Israel. In the midst of all this, God shows hope. And God gives hope. [4:21] Through his prophet Isaiah. And through the other prophets as well. But we're in Isaiah this morning. But God gives hope. And he shows hope. And he makes that hope known. [4:31] And Isaiah chapter 12. Really is just six short verses. About the hope that we have. Because of God. And because of the doings of God. [4:43] Because of the things of God. And the mercies of God. And the promises of God. We all know that song. Standing on the promises of God. Folks, we have nothing more to stand on. Than what God has promised us. [4:55] In his word. So. All that being said. We'll begin at verse 1 of Isaiah chapter 12. Verse 1 says. And in that day. [5:05] Thou shalt say. O Lord. I will praise thee. That though thou wast angry with me. Thine anger is turned away. And thou comfortest me. [5:17] Behold. God is my salvation. I will trust. And not be afraid. For the Lord Jehovah. Is my strength. And my song. He also has become my salvation. [5:29] Therefore with joy. Shall ye draw water. Out of the wells of salvation. And in that day. Shall ye say. Praise the Lord. Call upon his name. Declare his doings. [5:40] Among the people. Make mention. That his name. Is exalted. Sing unto the Lord. For he hath done excellent things. This is known. In all the earth. [5:51] Cry out. And shout. Thou inhabitant of Zion. For great is the Holy One. Of Israel. In the midst of thee. So. [6:02] Back to Isaiah chapter 12. And verse 1. He says. And in that day. Thou shalt say. O Lord. I will praise thee. Thou wast angry with me. [6:12] Thine anger is turned away. And thou comfortest me. And folks. In this first verse. Of Isaiah chapter 12. We have. A wonderful picture. [6:23] Of someone. Who has been redeemed. Someone who has. Received. Salvation. Again. It begins with. And in. That day. And in what day.If we go back to Isaiah chapter 11. [6:35] We're talking about. The stem of Jesse. One that would. Come from the Davidic line. We all know. Jesse. As being the father of David. And David. David of course. [6:45] Being king of Israel. And we know the promise. From the book of Genesis. That the scepter. Would never depart. From Judah's hand. And David. And Jesse. Were all part of the tribe. [6:56] Of Judah. So we're talking about. In that day. When the stem of Jesse. Has been made known. So in that day. Thou shalt say. O Lord. I will praise thee. [7:08] Though thou wast angry with me. Thine anger is turned away. And thou comfortest me. And folks. This should comfort us. If you're here. And you're born again. You're indeed. [7:19] In fact. A child. Of the living God. Of the one true God. This should comfort you. Because. At one time or another. If you're here. And you're saved this morning. At one time or another. [7:30] God's anger. Was not. Turned away from you. God's anger. Was turned towards you. The Bible says. That we are by nature. The children. Of wrath. You can find that. [7:40] In the New Testament. You can find all kinds of things. About our state. Before. We were saved. So the anger of God. Was turned. Toward us. You read in Psalm. Chapter 5. [7:50] That God abhors. The wicked. You read in Psalms. Chapter 10. That he despises. Those that commit evil. God despises those people. He despises their doings. He despises their ways. [8:02] He despises everything. About them. And the anger. Of almighty God.Is turned. Toward those people. And the anger. Of almighty God. Even now. In the New Testament times. [8:12] Even now. In 2025. Getting ready to roll into 2026. Here in about a month or so. Folks. Even now. God is angry with the wicked. Every day. [8:23] That is the words. Of the scripture. He is angry. With the wicked. Why? Because the gospel. Of Jesus Christ. Has gone out. Into the world. The gospel. [8:34] Of Jesus Christ. Has been preached. Jesus Christ. Has come. He has lived. The perfect life. He has died. He has been buried. He has resurrected. And he forever sits. [8:44] At the right hand. Of majesty. To make intercession. On behalf of all of those. That have repented. Of their sins. Believing in Jesus Christ. Believing. The gospel. [8:55] And they now live lives. That are glorifying. Unto God. But. The anger of God. Is still. Upon those. The wrath of God. Is still. [9:06] Upon those. That have not. Received Jesus Christ. Why? Because. That is the only way. Of salvation. Because that is what. [9:16] Has been offered. And it is not. A plan B. Or a plan C. In God's. Timing. Or in God's plan. [9:26] It has always been plan A. Christ. Has always been plan A. The gospel of Jesus Christ. Has always been plan A. You read in Genesis chapter 3. In verse 15. [9:38] Where there was a. There was a promise made. That the seed of the woman. Would bruise the head. Of the serpent. That was the first gospel promise. In the scriptures. And that is why God is angry. [9:49] With the wicked. Because there has been a way made. That they don't have to go. To that awful place. Called hell. They don't have to suffer. Underneath the condemnation. Of almighty God. [9:59] They don't have to stay. Underneath the curse. And underneath the judgment. That almighty God. Has placed upon all of planet earth. The human beings included. Those of us that have been redeemed. [10:11] Those of us that have been saved. Is by the grace. Of almighty God. Again here it says. And in that day. Thou shalt say. Oh Lord. I will praise thee. Folks. We have reason to praise. [10:23] Almighty God. Because he has saved us. From the hell. That every one of us. Deserve. He deserves our praise. For that. He deserves our praise. Because it is a perfect plan. [10:35] That he has made. It is a perfect plan. That is in place. The gears are turning on. They have been turning on. For quite some time now. And he is a perfect God. That has made this way. [10:46] And it has zero to do. With your efforts. Or my efforts. It is all of God. Is that not cause. To praise God. He says. And in that day. [10:57] Thou shalt say. Oh Lord. I will praise thee. Though thou wast angry with me. Thine anger is turned away. Folks. That is why we would praise God. Because at one time. He was angry with us. [11:08] But when we repented of our sin. Believing the gospel. Of Jesus Christ. When we confess Jesus Christ. As Lord. And we believe in our heart. That God has raised him from the dead. [11:19] Thou shalt be saved. And that is when we were saved. Is that not what Paul. Wrote to the Roman church. In Romans chapter 10? That if thou. Confess Jesus Christ. [11:30] As Lord. And thou.Believest in thine heart. That God hath raised him. From the dead. Thou shalt be saved. Folks. That. That is believing. The death. The burial. And the resurrection. [11:40] Of Jesus Christ. Which according to. First Corinthians. Chapter 15. Verses 1 through 4. Is the gospel. And why is that the gospel? Because that is the good news. [11:50] That although man be a sinner. God is a wonderful. Mighty. Able. And willing. Savior. And he is that Savior. Through the finished work. Of Jesus Christ. [12:01] That's why we praise God. And because we have accepted God's work. And accepted God's plan. And accepted God's prescription. Of salvation. [12:12] That is why his anger is turned away from us. Thine anger is turned away. And thou comfortest me. It should bring us great comfort. To know. That the anger. [12:23] Of the God. Of the universe. The anger of the very one. That spoke everything that we know. Into existence. That his anger. Is turned away from us. Knowing good and well. [12:33] He could snuff us out. At any time that he wanted to. Knowing good and well. He could destroy us. He could destroy our families. He could destroy our lives. He could destroy everything. [12:44] And everyone around us. If he wanted to. But. His anger is turned away from us. This is reason to praise him. And this is reason that we should have comfort. [12:54] Verse 2. Behold. God is my salvation. I will trust and not be afraid. For the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song. He also is become my salvation. [13:08] Just the first line of this. Is enough to have us praise almighty God. Behold. God is my salvation. The prophet here begins with the word. Behold. [13:19] Saying. Stop what you're doing. Pay attention to what I'm about to say. I'm about to say something that is profound. And what does he say? God is my salvation. [13:29] Folks. I am not my salvation. And I am not your salvation. You are not my salvation. Nor are you anyone else's salvation. If anyone has true salvation. Salvation is of God. [13:41] And God is salvation. The prophet here says. Behold. God is my salvation. What prompted him to say this though? Verse 1. Is what prompted this. [13:52] When he says. I will praise thee. Though thou wast angry with me. Thine anger is turned away. And thou comfortest me. His anger was turned away. God's anger was turned away. [14:04] From the people. From those that believed. What the word of God said. He says. Behold. God is my salvation. Because his anger is turned away. If God is not angry with you. [14:16] God is not. God is not necessarily pleased with you. But he is pleased. With the finished work. Of Jesus Christ. That you have accepted. As your salvation. [14:26] And as your redemption. God is not pleased. With the works of man at all. Does the book of Isaiah. Not also tell us. That our righteousnesses. Are as filthy rags? God is not pleased. [14:37] With our good works. He is pleased. With the good work. Of Jesus Christ. Jesus. Jesus said himself. To the disciples. He said. My meat.Is to do the will of Him. [14:48] That sent me. It was. It was Christ's food. It was everything. That he wanted to do. Was to do the will. Of the father. And the father. Is well pleased. [14:58] With the work. Of Christ. Behold. God is my salvation. I will trust. And not. Be afraid. Folks. If God is our salvation. [15:09] What else. Do we have to trust in. For salvation. If we realize. God is our salvation. Now. I'm not saying. If God is your salvation. [15:19] There's nothing you need to do. The Bible is contrary. To that thought. And scripture. Is contrary. To that thought. God is contrary. To that thought. God. If we are indeed. [15:31] A child of God. If we are indeed saved. We will have works. In our lives. But those works are not. To be saved. Those works are not. For salvation. They are because. Of salvation. [15:43] Even James says. In James chapter 2. Show me thy faith. Without thy works. I will show thee my faith. By my works. We show our faith in God. Through our works. We show our faith in God. [15:55] Through what we do. And through the lives. That we live folks. It is not enough. To give lip service. Unto God. And say yes. I trust God. Yes. I trust in the. [16:05] In the death. The burial. The resurrection. Of Jesus Christ. Yes. I trust in his salvation. Does your life. Show that you trust in it. Or do you come to church. And then go out in the world. And live any way that you want to folks. [16:17] That is not. A sign of someone. Who has truly been saved. Someone that has truly been saved. Will live a life. Live a life. That is upright and holy. [16:27] In the eyes. Of God. Not that we will live it perfectly. There was only one. That was able to do that. And that is why God is pleased. With his work. What I have already said. Jesus Christ. We will not live it perfectly. [16:39] But we do strive. Unto perfection. Do we not? Behold God is my salvation. I will trust. And not be afraid. Why have we to be afraid of? If God be for us. Who can be against us. [16:51] Is what the scripture says. Folks. It does not matter. If this world comes against us. It does not matter. If the principalities. Of the. If the prince and the power of the air. Come against us. [17:01] It does not matter. If everything evil in this world. If every demon. That knows that hell is going to be home. One day after a while. Comes against you. What do we have to be afraid of? [17:11] When God is our savior. When God is our salvation. When God has turned his wrath. Away from us. And he has comforted us. Why should we be afraid? Of anything. [17:22] Or anyone. That comes. Our way. We shouldn't be. And the prophet here says. Behold God is my salvation. I will trust. And not be afraid. I will not be afraid. [17:32] Because I trust in God. The world cannot do anything. As far as the light of eternity is concerned. The world cannot do anything. [17:44] To a child of God. And I praise God for that. Can they kill us? Can they kill us? Yes. Can they destroy us? Yes. And they have many different ways. [17:55] And means of doing that. But in light of eternity. The world cannot do anything to us. Even though they kill me. I mean. Job says that himself. [18:06] Does he not? Says though he slay me. Yet will I trust him. And though the world slay me. Yet will I trust God. I will trust God. [18:16] Maybe not to continue me. Or to sustain me. On this side of eternity. But I have a promise directly from the scriptures. That if I believe the gospel. And I have repented of my ways. [18:27] That I have everlasting life. And that it was worth far more to me. Than anything this world can offer me. Anything that can be offered at all. For the Lord Jehovah is my strength. [18:40] And my song. He has also become my salvation. The Lord Jehovah is my strength. I have no strength within myself. I have no hope within myself. [18:52] I certainly cannot trust in myself. For Jeremiah says. The heart is deceptive above all things. And desperately wicked. Who can know it? I can't trust myself. [19:03] But I can trust God. And I do trust God. For the Lord Jehovah is my strength. And my song. He also has become my salvation. Has he become your salvation? Is he become your salvation? [19:15] Is he presently your salvation? Or are you still sitting here lost this morning? I don't know anybody's heart here. I have no reason to think. That there is anybody here that's lost. But I don't know that for certain. [19:26] Only you and God know that for certain. But the Lord Jehovah. The prophet here says. Is my strength. And my song. He is my strength and my song. [19:38] He is my strength. And he is my song. He is my strength. And he is the reason that I praise. He is my strength. And he is the reason that I sing. He is my strength. And he is the reason that I even have a song. [19:50] Because he is that song. He is the song of praise. That we sing to the world. I'm not talking about going out here. And singing a musical melody to the world. I'm talking about going out here. [20:01] And living your life. In front of them. As the Bible tells us to do. And I'm telling you about going out here. And testifying of the goodness of Jesus Christ. And the salvation that is found only in him. [20:14] That's the song that we have. And the Lord Jehovah. As the prophet here said. Verse 3. Therefore with joy. Shall you draw water out. Of the wells of salvation. [20:26] Because of these things. Because of verses 1. And verse 2. Because of those two verses. Therefore. With joy. Shall you draw water. [20:38] Out of the wells. Of salvation. It's because God has turned his wrath. Away from us. He has turned his anger. Away from us. He has comforted us. He is our salvation. [20:50] And our trust is in him. And our strength is in him. Everything hopeful. Is in almighty God. Therefore. With joy. Shall you draw water. [21:02] Out of the wells of salvation. And folks. Salvation. Is of the Lord. In other words. You can't draw those wells. From within yourself. [21:12] And you cannot draw them. From your mama. Or your daddy. Or your grandparents. Or anyone else. You cannot draw. With these waters. That's being spoken of here. From the well. [21:22] Of the pastor. Or of a deacon. Or of anyone else. You draw from the well. Of salvation. And Christ. Is salvation. What did he tell the woman. [21:33] At the well. He that drinketh the water. That I offer. Shall never thirst. Shall never thirst. That's drawing from the well. Of salvation. Jesus told them again. [21:44] In the gospel of John. When he was at the feast. He said. He said. If any man. Is of thirst. Let him come unto me. And drink. He that believeth on me. [21:54] As the scripture. Hath said. Out of his belly. Shall flow rivers. Of living water. Folks. Water. Is very important. Without it. We couldn't live. [22:06] And here. He's talking about. Drawing water. This will be living water. Because it's coming from the well. Of salvation. And salvation is only offered in God. [22:17] And God himself. Is salvation. The psalmist said. Or the prophet here. Said himself. In verse 2. God. Is my salvation. So when we draw. From the well of salvation. We are drawing from the well. [22:28] Of almighty God. And this is a well. That is inexhaustible. It will never dry up. It will never be exhausted. It will never be empty. Everything about almighty God. [22:40] Is forever. Every one of his attributes. Is forever. And his salvation. Is forever. And his well of salvation. That we can draw from. Is forever. Anytime you. [22:50] Anytime you have a need. Anytime you feel a need. Within your life. You can go back to the. To the well. Of salvation. And you can draw. Up out of the living waters. Of that well. [23:01] And I praise God. That it's that way. Because there's days in my life. That I don't feel safe. There's days in my life. I don't feel like God. Is a blue billion miles. Close to me. But I know I can go back. [23:12] To the well. Kind of like Elijah. And that widow woman. And he told her. To feed him. She had a cruise of oil. [23:23] And she had a barrel of meal. And both of them were about empty. But Elijah told her. If you feed me. If you'll make for me. A little cake. God's going to do this thing. [23:37] For you. God. Will not let you starve. God will take care of his own. And this. One of the most amazing parts. About that. That was a Gentile woman. That wasn't even a Jew. [23:48] It was a Gentile woman. But Elijah. God's man. Promises her that. And every time. She went back to that barrel. There was meal. And there was a cruise of oil. [23:59] That was. That had enough oil. To feed her. And her family. The rest of their days. Folks. That's the way the well. Of salvation is. Every time we go to draw. [24:10] The living water. That is. Jesus Christ. Out of it. It's always full. It will never run dry. It will never be exhausted. And I praise God. For that. Verse 4. [24:20] And in that day. Shall you say. Praise the Lord. Call upon his name. Declare his doings. Among the people. Make men. Make mention. That his name. Is exalted. [24:31] In what day? In the same day. That we're talking about. In verse 1. In the day. That the realization. In the day. That Christ. Is revealed. Under the world. [24:42] In that day. Shall you pray. Shall you. Say. Praise the Lord. Call upon his name. Declare his doings. Among the people. Make mention. That his name. [24:53] Is exalted. What is this talking about here? It's talking about. In that day. That God's people. In this day. The church. Should testify. Of these things. [25:04] The church. Should praise the Lord. The church. Should call upon his name. And we should be exhorting. And imploring. And encouraging. Others to do so. By testifying. [25:15] Of the goodness of God. By testifying. Of the mercy. Of God. Of the long suffering. Of God. Every one of you. That are here. Here this morning. If you have been saved. [25:26] It is simply. Because of the mercy. And the patience. And the long suffering. Of almighty God. Because God. Could have snuffed you out. At any point. That he wanted to. [25:37] And you could be in hell. Right now. For all of eternity. But in his mercy. And in his graciousness. And in his kindness. And with his salvation. [25:49] God. Has seen fit to do otherwise. In that day. Shall you say. Praise the Lord. Call upon his name. Declare his doings. Among the people. Make mention. That his name is exalted. And we say this. [26:01] Not only amongst each other. Yes. We're to encourage. One another. As brothers and sisters. In Christ. To praise the Lord. And to exalt his name. But folks. [26:11] We are to encourage. The lost world. To do the same. Now they cannot praise God. Truly. Until they are saved. It's an impossibility. You can't do godly things. Unless you're a godly person. [26:23] So the lost. Cannot truly praise God. But we can encourage them. We can encourage them. To be saved. And then they can rightfully. And truthfully. Praise God. [26:33] Folks. We are called by Jesus Christ. In the sermon on the mount. In Matthew. In chapter 5. To do this very thing. Jesus Christ. Says. [26:44] Says. Says. For us. To do this very thing. In the sermon on the mount. When he said. When he tells us. That we should have our. That we should do our works. Before men. [26:56] And glorify our father. Which is in heaven. Jesus Christ. Gives the same commandment here. We are to have works. And we are to show those works. Before men. That they may see our good works. [27:09] And in doing that. We glorify our father. Which is in heaven. Whether they receive it or not. Whether the world. Receives the gospel or not. When the gospel goes forth. [27:19] It glorifies God. When a person gets saved. It glorifies God. And quite frankly. When a person goes to hell. Because they rejected the gospel of Jesus Christ. [27:31] That glorifies God. Because it shows that his word. Is true. A lot of people don't like to hear that. But that's the truth. We will glorify God. [27:41] For all of eternity. In one way or another. Either glorifying him in heaven. Singing praises unto his name. And worshiping him. As we find in the book of Revelation. That the church is doing. Or we will glorify God. [27:53] By spending all of eternity in hell. And that brings glory to God. As well. Verse 5. Sing unto the Lord. For he hath done excellent things. [28:04] This is known in all the earth. Sing unto the Lord. Did we not just do that here this morning? But folks. It goes beyond just singing. Praise unto the Lord. [28:14] And singing hymns in a church service. Do you sing throughout the week? And again. Do you sing with your life? Not necessarily. Even with your tongue. Do you give praise unto God? [28:25] And do you show the world. That you believe the God of the Bible. You believe in the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. You believe in the God that sent his only begotten son. Into this world to save sinners. [28:38] Do we sing that kind of song unto the Lord. Every day of our life. Every hour of our life. Sing unto the Lord. For he hath done excellent things. What excellent things? Well in this immediate context. [28:49] A Jew speaking to other Jews. What excellent things has he done? Well first and foremost. He delivered those people out of Israel. With his strong right arm. [29:00] He parted the Red Sea through his man Moses. He delivered them through the Red Sea. And then he closed the Red Sea. Up on top of Pharaoh and his army. That was an excellent thing. [29:11] And that was a great thing that God did. Now. Fast forward to the New Testament church. What excellent and what great thing has God done? He has sent his only begotten son into the world. [29:22] That you and I could have life. And have it more abundantly. That's an excellent thing. And a great thing that he has done. That is the most excellent thing that God has done. Is send his son. [29:33] To die on behalf of rebel sinners. Sing unto the Lord. For he hath done excellent things. This is known in all the earth. A lot of people have issues with this. This is known in all the earth. [29:46] Is it really? Was it in Isaiah's time? That's present tense. Is it not? This is known in all the earth. What is known? The excellent things that God has done. Again. In this immediate context. [29:58] The entire world. Would have known. About the deliverance of Israel. Through the Red Sea. Word got around. Hey. When they got to Jericho. Before they ever overtook it. [30:10] It's proven with Rahab's words. Word had already reached them. That God had parted the Jordan River. So that they could get across. And word got around before that. [30:23] That God had part of the Red Sea. So that the Israelites could get across. Word gets around about God. But is that what's being said here? Is that what's being said in verse 5? [30:35] This is known in all the earth. This is what's commonly referred to in theology. As present prophecy. And it's not uncommon at all in the book of Isaiah. [30:47] Isaiah uses the present tense. Speaking of present tense. But future events as well. Quite often. I'll give you an example. Unto us a child is born. [30:59] That's present tense. Folks this was 700 years. And that was written 700 years. Before Christ was ever born. But unto us a child is born. [31:10] Isaiah 53. Isaiah 53 says. He is despised and rejected. Again. 700 years before Christ was ever born. [31:22] It's present prophecy. He was talking about present tense. But he was speaking of something that would happen in the future as well. And this is no different. What's being said here. [31:32] For this is known in all the earth. Like I said, some things that God had done. Some excellent things and grand things that God had done. Was known in all the earth. But folks, the fact that Jesus Christ walked this earth is known right now in 2025. [31:49] The entire world over. But people reject it. It's not because it's not known. In fact, it's not because it's not been proven. Even atheists will tell you that yes, there was a man named Jesus Christ that walked this earth. [32:05] Because there's too much testimony about it to deny the fact of it. But they reject the gospel. They reject the good news that he was and is the only begotten son of the father. [32:17] They reject the good news that they are a sinner and that God can save them and is willing to save them. Through the work of Jesus Christ. That's what they reject. And that's why people go to hell. [32:30] Again, verse 5. Sing unto the Lord for he hath done excellent things. This is known in all the earth. It was known then. The great things that God had done for Israel. And it is known now. [32:41] And it will be known on into the future. All the nations of the world are going to know that Jesus Christ is Lord. Do we not find that in the New Testament? A couple of times in the New Testament. [32:53] That every mouth, that every knee shall bow. And every tongue shall confess. Folks, every is every. Whether they're saved. Whether they're lost. Whether they believe. Whether they don't believe. [33:05] Whether they have accepted the gospel. Or rejected the gospel. Every knee shall bow. And every tongue shall confess. That Jesus Christ is Lord. It will be known in all the earth. [33:17] And his great things were known at this time. Verse 6. And we'll be done. Cry out and shout. Thou inhabitant of Zion. For great is the Holy One of Israel. [33:29] In the midst of Thee. If we go back to verse 1. The very last line. Or very last couple of lines. Though thou wast angry with me. [33:40] Thine anger is turned away. And thou comfortest me. Verse 6 again. Cry out and shout. Folks. This is why we cry out and shout. This is why we sing the praise. [33:51] This is why we know that God is our salvation. And this is why we sing the song of praise. Not just on Sunday morning. And not just when we hear one on the radio. [34:02] But we sing it constantly with our lives. Cry out and shout. Thou inhabitant of Zion. Because we are inhabitants of Zion. We are inhabitants of the family of Almighty God. [34:15] And we are promised to live in a city. We are promised to live in a country one day. Where there will be no more death. There will be no more sickness. There will be no more sorrow. There will be no more heartache. [34:26] There will be no sin. There will be none of these things. And no devil nor nymph that knows that hell is home. Will be able to tempt us. With sin. It will be a perfect place. [34:37] This is for people. The inhabitants of Zion. Cry out and shout. Thou inhabitant of Zion. For great is the Holy One of Israel. In the midst of thee. Folks. This is not a salvation. [34:49] That we have to wait upon. There is a salvation that is present. The moment that I got saved. I was saved. I didn't get partially saved. And then have to do point A. [35:01] Point B. And point C. In order to be completely saved. Know that it goes contrary to what the Bible teaches. I received salvation when I received salvation. [35:12] Full and complete. Christ died for my complete salvation. And when God saved my soul. And He moved in on the inside. Even this verse here says. The Holy One of Israel. [35:24] In the midst of thee. He is in the midst of His people. He is in the midst of the church. Christ being the head. And the church being the body. [35:35] He is in the midst of His people. He said where two or three are guided in my name. I am in the midst of them. God is in the midst of us. And this is enough. [35:46] This is enough for us to cry out. And us to shout. I ain't saying you've got to cut a shine when you come to church. I ain't saying you have to shout. Or you have to scream. But worship should come out of you. [35:58] In one way, shape, form, or fashion. Because God is in the midst of His people. Maybe it's simply sitting in your pew crying. Folks, that's a form of worship. [36:08] There's people in Scripture that did that. Maybe not sitting in their pew. But they cried because of the goodness of God. And because of the mercy of God. Because they realized who they were. And they realized who God was. [36:20] And what God had done for them. Cry out and shout, thou inhabitant of Zion. For great is the Holy One of Israel in the midst of thee. [36:30] God is in the midst of His people. And this is reason for us to worship. God is salvation. This is reason for us to worship. God at one time was angry with us. [36:43] But He has turned away His anger and His wrath and His fury from us. And He did that through Jesus Christ. This is a reason to cry out and to shout, O inhabitant of Zion. [36:57] We have reason to worship God. And these six verses give us good reason to worship God. As well as the rest of Scripture. And I encourage you and I implore you to worship God. [37:10] As often as you can. With every aspect of your life. And every aspect of your being. God bless you all. That's the message for this morning. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry.
